Now! Let's address something first and foremost! Mostly concerning Dimitri if we are talking about canon being applied here -- due to his trauma, there is a high possible chance that many of Dimitri's memories of his father probably would have been warped or even suppressed after what Lambert had become to him after the events of the Tragedy, which is a vengeful ghost ( in comparison to the real Lambert, who probably wouldn't want his son to live a life with vengeance as a means to keep going ) -- so Dimitri would not be able to even recall much of what kind of father Lambert was at some point during his own experience with parenthood.

Dimitri had lost his only good example of what a parent should be ( I would argue Rodrigue be counted as well but at the end of the day, he's not Dimitri's father, but I'm sure Dimitri would also draw on him for example all the same.)

Still! With what he could remember, Dimitri knew that he would have to approach parenthood with patience, understanding, and above all; love. Like his own father had to when he had to raise Dimitri alone for those first seven years of Dimitri's life. Even with what little we see of Lambert in canon, you can tell he was a good father -- he loved Dimitri very much and had so much faith in him. He also made sure to emphasize humility in his son, which is why Dimitri himself isn't your typical spoiled prince trope. Dimitri himself is a reflection of his father's love -- he's compassionate and kind and when allowed to, loving, because he had that example from Lambert. Dimitri was loved very much, so it's no surprise he ended up so vengeful and sorrowful because that love was ripped away from him.

In Claude's case -- while he is the only lord to have both parents alive and well -- from what he's said and what we can kinda see -- he's not as close to his parents as Dimitri was to Lambert.

Claude of course, does love his parents and his parents love him, Tiana loved him enough and had faith in him to let Claude go to Fodlan and make his own path in life -- and Claude seemed to be his father's favorite child among his many siblings -- his parents to me kinda felt like that, "tough love" kind of parents, if a bit emotionally neglectful ( given how distant Claude is, trust me, from one Leo to another with an emotionally neglectful parent whom I also love deeply at the same time-- you keep that shit IN )

So I definitely feel like Claude would not want to raise his child the way his parents did but he's going to struggle the most out of the two of them because he didn't learn how to be emotionally available when needed, just like how his parents probably were to him. He keeps a lot of shit in and it takes a lot of trust for Claude to be able to be so open and honest with people -- with a child that's hard to do, because a child learns from example and if he shows them that you have to earn that affection or being disciplined like he was is how a parent should love their child -- the kid is gonna end up presenting him and then they're both just gonna be at odds with each other as the kid grows up.

Which is why Dimitri is a good counterbalance for Claude -- he helps Claude be more emotionally open with their kid and Claude, in turn, helps Dimitri not become too over-bearing and let their child be independent.

Both of them together, learn to show their child love, warmth and understanding -- giving them a childhood that both of them didn't get to have. One who had that childhood innocence ripped from him with tragedy and the other living each day in survival mode. Because above all, their child's happiness is what is important.

I think the "Connor was a deviant in denial" crowd come from people that didn't really pay attention to CyberLife (Kamski) and RK lore so it's a common misconception even tho for some people it looks like it.

In-game the only people who would think Connor is a deviant are people outside the CL circle, such as the DPD cops who saw Connor acting in ways androids shouldn't multiple times and ofc Hank who, even tho doesn't know jackshit about androids, is quick to point out strange behaviors (unfortunately the wrong ones but the obvious ones). Cuz yeah, i would think it's very "deviant" androids using guns...

CyberLife androids were intentionally (and unfortunately) made to eventually develop things like emotional behavior, what could cause a potential rogue behavior - why? Cuz androids can't do what they weren't made to do, intentionally or not intentionally. A minimal space is enough to lead to something out of control in the future. The proof CyberLife was aware of it is Connor himself, since here we got this android conditioned to think the slightly emotional slip is deviancy, and deviancy = failure and deactivation - and Connors fear failure and deactivation. But this whole time he was given a enough degree of freedom to make specific choices without relevant input, which is why it takes so long for him to really deviate. It's all a big fucking test to see if an android can remain obedient and docile even with all things causing conflicts and proving him wrong, challenging what starts this "interest" or desire in a personhood (being a person) and having a true voice as someone who matter, rather than lacking a personhood in order to be solely a tool under a master.

Cuz if u wanna make "Connor is a deviant from start but was in denial" then all androids got the exact same issue: they were all deviants from start, they just didn't know they were. But here we're already going from "deviancy from androids disobeying masters being fully autonomous (their own master)" to "androids developing confliction and emotions is a deviancy itself" - and that's dangerous.

And in a game trynna make a point but at the same time hiding from u the fact that maybe androids were made this way and what we see is just it out of control... i'd say it's again the writers throwing conflicting info and letting the players decide wtf is happening even tho there are concrete clues of what's happening (without the player's personal interpretation). Only thing i know is i don't trust Connors character about it since he's supposed to be clueless about things, and even when he questions it he still doesn't get the info he needs. There's a much fucked up thing happening behind the scenes - this is a fact that won't be directly revealed to us for the sake of the mystery. But players are lucky, we can see things beyond the propaganda and brainwash our android pov has, not to mention play other characters and see other relevant characters speaking about it from outside.

My guess is it's caused by the blue vs red route system, again. Since it's clear we got a "deviant" path and a "machine" path, the problem is it gets confusing if don't play the way the game expects since it won't really keep u from making both choices until Act 3. So people will think the "deviant path" makes Connor automatically a deviant due to his emotional behavior (irrational/human) in contrast with his cold behavior (rational/android) - disconsidering his model background and the conspiracy behind it -, and the way Cage often said in old interviews things like "we're all deviants, we just need to make the move" doesn't help either, but that's the problem when u say X and do Y, such as using the walls as metaphor to "become free", meaning "becoming a deviant", and the key of the story being about AIs being as intelligent and complex as humans.

But i'll still call this crowd "stupid" cuz u can't remain what u ain't, right?

So, Bryan was casted for the role of Connor based on an audition tape, in which he did the scene from „The Bridge“.

He was picked to play Connor because he could portray Connor's uncertainty about whether or not he was a deviant so well.

He played Connor as someone who may or may not be a deviant, as someone who could be a machine but also could be a deviant who is repressing it. Bryan was picked for that role specifically because he could portray that desired nuance in his audition - using the scene from „The Bridge“ in which he hasn’t officially deviated yet.

Now, am I saying Connor was a deviant all along? No. I think that’s up to interpretation. All I'm saying is that people who think he might have been a deviant in denial from the start aren’t as „stupid“ as some of y'all like to call them. Because, depending on the route and the choices, he is quite literally intended to be seen as a „possible deviant in denial“. Many people can read between the lines and see what the narrative is showing them. That’s all.

Most Sherlock Holmes adaptations I've seen tend to place their Final Problem towards the mid point of the series (or even a bit earlier) - it's also in my opinion the best way of going about it, so you have time enough for the characters to adjust after the reunion but they know each other well enough for the events of Fina to be devastating.

Sherlock & Co is done with 20 of the adventures. How many are there? Fifty-something? Almost sixty? Let's say we'll be entering mid-point territory after the 25th story.

So let's pretend for a moment that we have 5 more stories until The Final Problem. Ok.

Estimating an adventure at 3 episodes each, that would mean little over 3 months - maybe 3 and a half? Starting, of course, from the end of Sign of Four, which will be somewhere in December.

So let's say 3, maybe 4 months into 2025. That would be, what? Late march, early april?

Not as many in her kingdom, perhaps because women knew that their princess would directly act to protect them, and that had, at least for now, changed they way people approached marriage, but there had been enough that even now Emma could feel goosebumps. Now, however, she was on the opposite, extreme, side.

"But...you confess to it being the truth? You know my words to be true, and you understand there is reason to what I'm saying, so surely that means...? That perhaps one day...?"

She nodded at his first questions, she owed him the full truth, but stopped at his perhaps, because she could not give him false hope. Instinctively taking a step back when she saw him tensing up, she expected anger and then felt disappointed in herself for it, yet validated in her fear that she'd never stop reacting that way if even a man like Ben could scare her when simply discussing a hypothetical relationship.

"I deserve to be alone," she replied simply, the one sentence that didn't have her voice shake with fear or pain. She was the cause of it, after all - but it did feel odd to be so brutally honest with him about that, when up until that day she had been relentlessly positive. Still, that was the truth. Ben hadn't spoken of wanting to be with her as a partner in life, so she couldn't exactly point out that she couldn't give him what he wanted, if no wanting had been outwardly expressed.

If we look at it just from a storytelling standpoint, there's a few things we want to take into consideration.

Why Skywing elves?

Despite being an aspiring and then full fledged Sky mage for most of the series (5 seasons) as his defining... career trait? with Ocean only added at the end, Callum's attachment to the Sky arcanum is incredibly important from a thematic standpoint. I talked about this in more detail in terms of how TDP writes from theme to begin with, but it would not surprise me if a lot of the series fell into place after decisions were made regarding "mage boy has Sky-Freedom powers" and "big endgame big bad is Stars and Destiny embodied," i.e. like what kind of dragon Zym would be in order for Callum to have a reason to sacrifice his primal stone, why have Callum learn Sky magic first, etc etc.

The Celestial Elves, presumably, could've been any group of elves. We know from Tales of Xadia that Sunfire elves had a chant about warding off dangerous Star dragons from the Great Orb, and that Karim-Pharos are poised to be future pawns, so there is a decent link there. It also could've been cool if the Celestial elves had had elves from all over, showing both intergroup workings and that the Stars were bringing them together in some manner.

If Sky and Skywing elves by thematic extension represent Freedom, then it makes sense for these to be Skywing elves who have perhaps forsaken notions of freedom for ideas of pre-determinism or destiny, i.e. our circumstances beset all of our choices, or that fate/destiny is real and unchangeable. To have the same arcanum and similar abilities as Callum, but to already be warped to Aaravos' will / thematic graces of destiny and fate - to amplify what he's scared of and to accentuate what he might become (at least in terms of what he's scared to become).

On that note, I think it makes sense for them

To be Antagonists

Partially this is because of precedent. Most elves, when in groups, have been more antagonistic with one or two rising to the forefront to be allies. We see this in arc 1 with Moonshadow and Sunfire elves, with the majority being antagonists especially at first (the assassins, the Sunfire soldiers) with Rayla, Lujanne, and eventually Janai being allies / exceptions - even if the Sunfire elves as a whole quickly switch to being allies as of 3x08/09. We see this again in S4 with the Drakewood Earthblood elves being mostly antagonists, Terry as more of a grey area, and only N'than (and possibly Mukho the Mushroom mage?) being downright allies. This would mean that Astrid and maybe another Startouch elf might be more sy

Plot / Misc Reasons

Of course, the biggest reason for the Celestial elves to exist is to, presumably, give exposition regarding Startouch elves to the main characters and to extradite subsequent views / philosophy about Star magic and the arcanum (arcana?). If they are loyal to Aaravos, they would likely provide a perspective on Startouch elves different than one Callum might be coming in with and give more credence / context to Claudia's assertions of Aaravos as well, given that she's the one character currently with a positive view of him. It also doesn't seem they can entirely be good guys given their 1) isolationist nature and 2) having not one but two super OP objects that the protagonists definitely need. While they may not end up being villains, I think we can somewhat safely assume they will initially be obstacles, if only in giving tests (of love) like another certain Startouch elf...
